Hands-On Cooking Classes in Prince Edward County

We have a wide array of scheduled cooking classes to choose from, based on country cuisine traditions from around the world. The premise of all our menus is to provide you with easy entertaining solutions that you can replicate at home. Participants leave with recipes in hand and a fresh new approach to seasonal cooking and appreciation of where food comes from.

Arrival is 9:30am at the farmhouse. The first 3 hours (or so) are devoted to a combined instruction and a hands on cooking class. Your morning will start with a HUMBLE coffee or PLUCK tea in the sunny dining room where Cynthia will review menu and the day’s activities with the group. Depending on the month, this could include picking a few ingredients in her kitchen garden.

Participants work in teams of two for cooking in the chef’s kitchen. Following the class, lunch will be enjoyed together around the pine harvest table, with a complimentary sampling of local wines. Students will learn about the region, its food & wine and the stories behind the menu they will be creating together.

Aprons and knives are provided for the class.  Just remember to wear comfy shoes!

“Farm & Cook” Thursdays

A couple of Thursdays per month we offer an extended culinary experience. Participants get the “behind the scenes” look at one of our local farms to learn and pick some of the ingredients for the class. A few days before the class you will get directions and information of the farm you will be visiting. Cynthia will meet you at the farm at 9am and the fun begins.
